About Image Resizer

Image Resizer is a free online image tool that lets you resize images to any size in pixels or percentage while maintaining quality without uploading files to any server. Designers, photographers, bloggers, and social media managers rely on browser-based image tools to make quick edits without launching heavy desktop software. Your images never leave your device — all processing happens locally using modern browser APIs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Upscaling (making larger) always reduces quality as pixels are interpolated. Downscaling (making smaller) generally maintains quality while reducing file size. Use high quality (90%+) for important images.
When locked, changing one dimension automatically scales the other proportionally. This prevents stretching or squishing the image. Unlock it when you need exact custom dimensions.
JPEG: best for photos (lossy, small size). PNG: best for graphics with transparency or text (lossless). WebP: best of both — smaller than JPEG/PNG with similar quality. WebP is supported in all modern browsers.
The tool is limited by browser memory. Images up to ~20MP (e.g. 5000×4000px) typically work fine. Very large images (50MP+) may be slow or cause out-of-memory errors depending on your device.
